Building Cosmology from any Point in Space and Time: The Immediate Space of the Present Moment
Right now, my location in front of the computer may imply a cosmological orientation, one aptly described by the philosopher Immanuel Kant as well as Hindu Sri Vidya cosmology.
I am in a spatial and cognitive relationship with various existents that shape the universe that enable my position in time and space. The mapping of those relationships within a cosmic framework is what constitutes a cosmology.
I relate with the cosmos of information and human orientation represented by the window into cyberspace enabled by my computer, even as I share with all those who together constitute the creators and navigators of that information sea our mutual constitution of the information matrix as co-creators and navigators, each of us particular points of consciousness within this dynamic network, in the spirit of Indra's net which stretches throughout the cosmos, at each vertex a jewel reflecting every other jewel at every other vertex.
For all of us operate in terms of relationship between interior and exterior space reaching into the depths of the mind and the farthest reaches of the cosmos we can imagine, the "two things that fill the mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe, the more often and the more steadily they are reflected upon, the starry heavens above me and the moral law within me" in Kant's words, even as we may expand our imagination to embrace the farthest reaches of the cosmos we are aware of, and even imaginatively contract the cosmos to our vicinity in the environment where I sit, and even into my space in front of the computer screen, as practised in Sri Vidya meditation.
That is a basic example of cosmology building.
Taking it further one could create a visual diagram to represent the entire structure of relationships, using visual, verbal, acoustic, abstract, or anthropomorphic symbols to represent the various points that make up the diagram as is done in Hindu yantra hermeneutics, the theory and styles of interpretation of the geometric cosmological forms known as yantras.
