In recognition of the United Nations' International Anti-corruption Day on December 9, this issue of Democracy in Action focuses on CIPE's efforts around the world to combat corruption. In many developing countries, corruption feeds ongoing political and economic failures by impeding market development, driving away investment, increasing the cost of doing business, and eroding the legitimacy of law and political leadership.
