Indeed an educated and disciplined fighting force which knows that
it's time to melt into the desert with their tails behind their legs
when the French troops turn up to chase them out of their strongholds
and outta Timbuktu.

I don't suppose that the fact that the al-Qaeda terrorist affiliates
integrated into the Tuareg's fighting forces diminish the disciplinary
aspects of their terrorist tactics or their violent disciplinary
activities such as imposing Sharia and non-Sharia punishments such as
chopping off hands and flogging and dis-gracing defenceless women at
the town centre – without trial - along with summary executions of
unarmed citizens of Mali which, mind you, is not a Muslim theocracy,
foolishness in deed, foolishness in action. That's what it is : FOOL -
ish mess, killing their fellow Muslims in Mali, as if these lines
recited in Arabic never went beyond their throats and into their
hearts:

were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by

And with understanding comes much sympathy for the Tuareg claims , but
their method - armed insurrection - if might is right then where are
they? Certainly not in the reservation.

Why can't they advance their claims through e.g. the OIC or the
African Union – instead of a Jihad which if it spins out of control
could escalate into Africa North of the Sahara versus Africa South of
the Sahara....

It's been mostly the gathering of footballing West African nations -
Mali ( another disciplined " bunch") to meet Nigeria in the
semifinals!
