Obviously, the writer of this piece is so uninformed about the
goings-on at UNIOSUN. Check the records you claim to have had access
to (if at all you had) and you will discover that the candidates who
submitted applications in response to the advert of 2012 are not seven
(7) as you claimed; they are much more than that. Second, the
University community is not officially aware of the selection of any
name(s) yet from the applications as the process is still ongoing. The
so-called shortlisted candidates merely exist in the imagination of
Raheem and his sponsors. In line with best practices, Council has
already set in motion the process of selection including a Search Team
and Selection Committee; both are yet to conclude their different
assignments. How did we come about a shortlisted few and all the
brouhaha about "shoddy attitude displayed by the Professor Gabriel
Olawoyin (SAN) led Governing Council"?
Habah! This Council just came on board and so far, it is trying its
best to reposition the University on higher footings. If Raheem has a
case to make for the Alumni on Council membership, let him go ahead
and stop mixing things up. For us within the system, we have high
expectations that the present Council is right on track, and without
any fear of being called names, I insist we give the Chairman and
members a breathing space to work as the Governor has rightly done so
far. Let's stop heating up the system unnecessarily!
Shalom.
