Montgomery County Executive Isiah "Ike" Leggett and co-chair of Maryland Council for New Americans; The Continental African Leadership Exchange Forum with Montgomery County Executive Isiah "Ike" Leggett recognizes the need for an accountable and accessible government in building partnerships for developments.
On Tuesday May 14, 2013 County Executive Isiah "Ike" Leggett and Uma Ahluwalia, Director of Health and Human Services; Betty Lam, Director of Community Affairs that includes all Health Initiatives in the Department of Health and Human Services; Sonia Mora, Director of Latino Health Initiative and the Welcome Back Center - a state-wide (Maryland) program and part of a National Initiative and the US Office of Minority Health; and other senior county and state officials will be participating in the Continental African Community Leadership Forum to address capacity building on health, economic and social developments. The new direction of the County's Health Initiative is consultative community leadership to provide competent services to all residents. The County would commend Dr. Emeka Onyewu for his stewardship. In deed, Dr. Onyewu is a leader beyond borders in addressing the quality of health in the African community, notably cancer education, prevention and intervention. The segment of the program is aligned with the Leggett Policy: Healthy and Sustainable Communities. To have a seat on May 14, please make your reservation.
