Subject: Journal of Labor and Immigration Call for Papers
My name is Maria C. Bustos, and I write as both a Brown University undergraduate and an editorial board member for the Journal of Labor and Immigration. The Journal is new, but hopes to shift the immigration discussion to a systemic level by exploring the intersections between labor and migration.
The editorial board now consists of four Brown alumni and a Brown student. We were all a part of the immigration rights coalition at the university and have a passion for immigrant rights advocacy, and we thought that, with all the rancor about immigration legislation in Congress, now would be a great time to pursue this project. The journal, in that sense, is an organic venture, and we hope that there is enough buzz and scholarly exchanges in universities to drive our project.
The Journal is now looking to publish exceptional academic papers, and we request your help in passing on our call for papers to interested students. At the bottom of this email is our Call for Papers announcement and an attached PDF file that we hope you can send to your students and distribute across any relevant channels.
One other note: There are absolutely no fees or barriers to submission or publication. We are not a pay-to-get-published journal. We simply wish to contribute to a contemporary discussion in a meaningful way.
If there are easier or more preferable ways to distribute this call for papers, let me know!
Thank you so much for your time and help on this.
Maria Bustos
