Since Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo is speaking intentionally and not just idly, his words should be taken for what they are worth, literally, seriously, if you love Nigeria, land of the free.
What can Alhaji Do-kubo do? What can they not do?
To begin with, he and his Niger-Delta-Men can go for the country's jugular - since these days the land of 165 million people survives on oil. All these development programs and all this education that the professors are forever talking about can only be financed by da oil money – and if Mujahid Dokubo and his men opt to disrupt that constant flow then the Naija economy will cough and spurt a little and come to a grinding halt. Perhaps it is in this sense that the Ijaw man is talking. He can't do much else. Unless of course the Southern, Ijaw Mujahideen want to join forces with their Jihadist Brethren-in-arms up North to declare the new Islamic state, fisabilillah?
Isn't it bad enough that Naijaland is already losing One Billion Dollars a month of the oil money to the Delta Bandits - who some say are motivated by poverty?
Well you don't steal $1 Billion a month and remain poor, or do you? With that sort of money you could purchase all kinds of weapons on the free market.
Fact is that the more the bandits get, they more they want. The law of unimpeded supply and everlasting demand. Month after month. How long has this been going on? There must be some kind of arrangement up there - and that should be all the more reason for the Delta Crocodiles to want a continuation of the largesse that's flowing their way, it would seem, unimpeded by qualms or fears of something sometimes known as " the stiff arm of the law"

--Must it always come with a threat in our dear country? A professor Abdullahi threatens on behalf of the North, a Dokubo with other militants on behalf of the Ijaw (South-South). Won't it be better if these show more respect for fellow Nigerians by opting for a nation-wide elite cum grassroots negotiations/politicking to swing the polls in favour of their preferred candidate(s). Whose interest will war serve? Now, my own threat: Except an Obiora (the people's choice) emerges as the next president of Nigeria, there shan't anymore be a Federal Republic of Nigeria on the world map.
