Re: USA Africa Dialogue Series - IN HONOR OF PROFESSOR FALOLA'S 60th BIRTHDAY

Olaniyi Agbetuyi,

Please help us explain this wonderful poetic summation.

It would be deeply appreciated.

If you can help with a line by line interpretation,that would be most wonderful.

Do you have more of such wonderful writing you could share or give a link to?

Thank you very much.

Prof:

On behalf of our mutual, Muse & Mentor,  the dotted line that sits astride a confluence of sixteen paths, First Sonneteer, He/She who undoubtedly prod your forehead with His/Her wand of polymathy, I bring you greetings on the occasion of this anniversary.  And as I prod the latest genotype of his/her archetypal divining tray (the I-Pad of which He/She conferred priesthood of ALL believers) and the dotted lines swirl in a vortex, animates the sixteen paths and lo! a cast:13 a year by the 13th year; by the 70th, 200.

And to the background choral liturgical intonation of  (Iwo la fi se,  Iwo la fi se, Iwo la fi sagba...)

13 a year
By the 13th year;
By the 70th, 200.
The oracle is brazen,
left no equivocations;
spoken!

Happy Anniversary!
