I was not surprised by the Black Stars performance and the result of the match. I am concerned about the endurance of Michael Essien and Sullay Muntari. Since Essien is not a regular for Chelsea he does not have the stamina to survive the full ninety minutes. Though Muntari's performance was great I am not fan of his, because he is not only very rude, but is also slow.

During a SerieA (Italian League) match I saw Muntari trying to prevent a referee from issuing a red card to one of his teamate Mexes. He was also very fortunate that he was not cautioned (Yellow Card) for stamping on the foot of an Ajax Amsterdam player who had already completed a pass during a Champions League encounter.

Consequently, Coach Appiah has to monitor the fortitude of Essien and advice Muntari about his attitude during a match. My advice to coach Appiah is to substitute Essien at the 70 minutes to 75 minutes mark with Agyemang-Badu.

Maybe this group of Black Stars are aware that this is one of the best opportunities they have to make it to the semi-finals--all things being equal--and maybe, maybe to the finals.

Ghana took the lead through Captain Asamoah Gyan in the 5th minutes with an own-goal by the Egyptian veteran defender Gomah in the 22nd doubling Ghana's lead in the ongoing World Cup qualify play-off against the pharaohs of Egypt.

Mohammed Abou Trika converts a spot kick to pull one back for Egypt in the 40th minute but Majeed Waris makes it three for the Stars after two minutes. Gyan records his personal second and fourth goal for the Black Stars in the 53rd minute.

Muntari converts a spot kick in the 72nd minute to make it 5 for the Black Stars. The Black Stars entered the match in good form, having finished four points clear of 2012 African Cup of Nations champions Zambia at the top of qualifying Group D. Egypt is the only team in the group stage of qualifying in Africa to win all six of their matches, as they cruised into the play-offs on top of Group G.
