The Conference and Book Presentation put together by Dr. Nana Amponsah kicked off yesterday in North Carolina with delegates from across Africa, Europe and the United States of America arriving at Wilinmgton.
The atmosphere was electrified by the celebrant himself, who, in his characteristic manner, is seen everywhere helping with the arrangements. Dr. Nana, who obviously in trekking in the footstep of Professor Falola, was equally bubbling with life, as she jumps in the car to pick one dignitary or the other from the airport to Hampton Inn where the delegates are logged.
In the midst of all these, a representative of the Ibadan School of History and the Director of the Institute for African Studies, Professor I.O. Albert, called in to register his and the institution's congratulatory message to the celebrant.
Professor Albert, who pioneered Conflict and Peace building Studies in Nigeria, began by "joining others in wishing Prof. Toyin Falola a happy birthday". He went on to enumerate the different ways Professor Toyin Falola had contributed and still contributing to knowledge production and dissemination, as well as the incomparable support he is giving scholars across the world to develop and master their crafts.
He prayed: "May the good Lord continue to strengthen his contributions to knowledge and outstanding support to colleagues across the globe".
"Givers never lack; TF will never lack. Congratulations!"
