An unconcluded debate on the African Fa/Ifa/Afa/Efa system of knowledge in relation to science and comparative scholarship at the University of African Art Facebook group.
The debate is an exploration of the complex of disciplines known as Fa/Ifa/Afa/Efa and perhaps other names, in terms of a debate about their relationship to science and to exoteric and esoteric knowledge in religion.
The owner of the group has chosen to remove me from the group, delete my detailed contributions and delete the bulk of the debate, removing the heckling to which he descended instead of debating ideas, the efforts at denigration by himself and a friend of his in place of engaging with arguments, and my efforts to respond to their distractions, leaving only the substantive views of himself and other contributors whom he sees as sharing his views.
Happily I saved the entire debate as Word and PDF files before that deletion took place.
It is a most fascinating read.
I was in the process of addressing all the points made almost line by line.
I will continue with addressing those points in this group.
The files are attached.
I will continue by first posting major blocks of the debate, then continue the process of addressing the points made.
I will be posting my continued responses to the points made in the debate on various listserves, my Facebook status updates, Facebook notes the open Facebook group COWACArt, the Cosmos of World Art and Correlative Cultural Forms, Scribd, academia. edu and the blog Ifa Student and Teacher.
Any of the participants in the debate who wish my continue to respond, or any new participants, may do so on on any those fora.
If they do, I will distribute their responses as I am doing this and any responses I make subsequently.
