The Reich on the march
with the burden of civilisation
dark drama
darker humour
medley of screams mixed with
the sweet cooing of
naïve birds
flying freely over the caged,
and the beautiful flowers
multiplying wildly
over the tombed field
Humanity overcoming humanity.
But Schindler?
the soft side of torment
with the list of life
subordinated to whims and caprices:
Chaim
Nussbaum
Poldek
Olek
Levi
Altmann
Hilman
Rothberg
Hirsch
Dresner
Rosner
Mischel
Wulkan
Stern
The list-
absolute good
absolute evil-
Treblinka
Auschwitz
Dachau
Factories of
essential labour
bartered lives.
Schindler...saviour?
Men...murderers?
what's the difference?
