Yes, even in death Mandela's flame remains un-snuffed and unwavering. But the greatness of Mandela is better comprehended when framed in the lens of all those who fought for and died in the anti-apartheid struggles. History and muse tell us that Mandela's eminent place among the political pantheons of African leaders is absolutely assured. But as the Akans say, "death awakens deep questions." Thus, as we celebrate the life and death of this great man, we should pause and ask why some African leaders are extolled, while others like Nkrumah are demonized by the West!

Subject: USA Africa Dialogue Series - SLEEP ON NELSON MANDELA at 95:WHAT LESSONS FOR AFRICAN LEADERS?
From: oladimeji aborisade: Some comments on Nelson Mandela. After very hard time in his native country of South Africa, Nelson Mandela displayed a good sense of honesty ,commitment and accountability. Nelson Mandela at 95 joined his ancestors peacefully. What Lessons for African Leaders of today? Nelson Mandela had courage and was upright. I wish African Leaders of today to emulate Nelson Mandela in courage and to be upright.
