In no way is this meant to be satirical but I'm sure that there are many among Jonathan Swift 's disciples who are not Goodluck Jonathan sycophants, and who are therefore capable of delivering some heavy punches in that sphere,in the popular media, if they so desire. Of course, back in time, if such happened in e.g. Saddam Hussein's Iraq, the end thereof would be a foregone conclusion – as the doctors once told Saddam after his operation, "You will have to take it easy for a while", to which Saddam replied, "Don't worry - I know that there are people out there planning against me, but I usually finish them even before they even have time to think about it!" –
But, as President Goodluck Jonathan says in that his reply "While, by the Grace of God Almighty, I am the first President from a minority group, I am never unmindful of the fact that I was elected leader of the whole of Nigeria and I have always acted in the best interest of all Nigerians !"
If Nigeria was not a democracy with a vibrant free press the only danger would be that anyone who woefully satirised the president could end up – as in an earlier era, in what was known as Muhammad's dead poets society
( When I read about the anti-semeitic comedian I found myself thinking," Just imagine - (and the name sounds right too) if president Goodluck Jonathan - fresh from his pilgrimage (with entourage) sightseeing on the banks of the Jordan River, imagine, if he was Jewish, then, no kidding, General Olusegun Obasanjo would probably be charged with anti-Semitism, for writing that letter .
Next thought: And in response to the President's request that he (General Obasanjo) furnish him
" furnish me with the names, facts and figures of a single verifiable case of the "high corruption" which you say stinks all around my administration and see whether the corrective action you advocate does not follow promptly." – just in the name of mischief, should General Obasanjo say "But you know full well who they are – are you not their leader? Are you not the leader of all Nigerians? Here are the names: Numero uno - You Mr. President, Goodluck Jonathan and number two: The First Lady, Patience Faka Jonathan, and for number three of the unholy trinity you had better take a good look at this list.....
Tell me dear Naija nation would that not be a declaration of War, on the part of general Olusegun O?
He would then definitely have to answer a charge of High Treason, wouldn't he?
