Folks,
Returned last night from visiting Nigeria where I was the guest of the Ake Arts and Book Fair, a very energizing event that turned out to be the coolest reunion of contemporary African writers that I will perhaps ever be privileged to witness. Met USA Africa forumites Ayo Obe (an awesome presence) and of course the one and only Pius Adesanmi.I have pictures!

On a sad note, it was a difficult trip I made to go visit with my cousin and childhood friend, Grace Iyayi, widow of the late great Festus Iyayi. She is indeed a portrait of grace and courage under extremely difficult circumstances. Our clan will mourn for a long time.
Great to be back. Enjoy the pictures. Hopefully, one of these days I shall do a photo essay of all the writers, thinkers, etc, etc, I met in Abeokuta. Lovely outing. Thanks, Lola Shoneyin for inviting me. And thanks, Victor Ehikhamenor for the pictures.
