Congrats, Moses! I'm always eager to read about "internal colonialism," especially of the Fulani and the sub-alterns' reformulation and/or dismemberment of that system of rule. The Fulani are one of the few colonialists that never imposed their language and culture on their subjects; instead, they smartly melded in and used what was available (e.g., Hausa language) to great effect.
Regards,
Okey

My book, Colonialism by Proxy: Hausa Imperial Agents and Middle Belt Consciousness in Nigeria (Indiana University Press), has just been released. Please order your copies from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other major and independent online book vendors. You may also order from the website of Indiana University Press directly. The paperback costs $30. It's also available as e-book for $24. If Nigerian/African history interests you, you may be interested in what I have to say about subcolonialism and its legacies in, and implications for, contemporary Nigeria. If history is not your cup of tea, buy a copy to support me or buy one to enrich your library. You never know who may visit you and find my book appealing. Thanks in advance for the support.--
