USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: Ekiti releases list of nominees to national conference
My People:
Except for missing relative youthfulness - say of the Governor's age and below - and at least one more woman, this is a pragmatically-chosen list of my home state Ekiti delegates, by senatorial district, by elder-liness and by longstanding ethnic nationality considerations. Another list is possible, but it would be arguable if it would be superior to this wonderfully non-partisan selection.
My three concerns however remain;
(1) Should government, whether federal or state, be this influential in choosing delegates at all to this conference?
(2). How will otherwise-employed delegates sacrifice at least three months to the conference deliberations? Most importantly:
(3). After all the jaw-jaw, Quo Vadis the paper on which the recommendations are written?
We shall see, as inquiring minds want to know. I hope that our Ekiti delegates will hammer this "Why are we really here?" question early and loudly.
And there you have it.
