It's Oil, Stupid! He won't be the first. The "revered" historian, Bala Usman, made the same case many years ago. Of course, the so-called North has benefited more than any group from "their" oil. Our military dictators gave out oil blocks as if they were giving out candies to kids at a birthday party! My only worry is that for all the time they controlled "their" oil (and they still do) so-called Northerners have nothing to show for it. A nice prelude to the NC. He should visit Oloibiri and experience the devastation and come back and tell us if there are oil producing states. With this kind of positions, the NC may well signal the end of the Nigerian experience.
There is nothing like North. It only exists in Bugaje's imagination. The so-called North ceased to exist when Gen. Gowon divided the country into 12 states on May 27, 1967. The North is a myth. We shouldn't buy it! The Constitution only recognizes States. At best we can talk about geo-political zones. Bugaje should come out of the closet and tell us which state (or Zone) in the North owns the OIL!
