I had assumed that the slur from our younger brother Adeyemi Bukola Oyeniyi
was directed at myself and the rest of us who are over 60 ---the current
unofficial middle age designated by we the babyboomers.
You can hold on to another year *while we process your application"
---when you will be fully qualified
to be referred to as an "arugbo"--frail old man/woman.
I am glad that you responded to Adeyemi Oyeniyi with an appropriate
prayer wishing that he also lives until old age.
The fact is we (the babyboomers) are not ready to vacate the stage yet --considering we have
just arrived --at least not until we join with all other Nigerians to build a modern and vibrant
nation that is befitting of decent human beings no matter
their stations in life and where there would always hope for those in dire need.
We will not leave the stage at this point when Nigeria is no more or less
a geographical space where some animals in human skins terrorize and murder
decent citizens in cold blood almost on a daily basis.
We are determined to leave Nigeria a better place than we met it.
Unless of course Adeyemi Oyeniyi's perceived slur was meant as an off hand joke--in which case he should
be doing a digital version of a full frontal idobale in front of his elders, have it photographed, scan the pic and
post it on line!,
