Resignation: I was misunderstood - Stephen Keshi
2014-07-02 06:26 by Chris Maduewesi
Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has stated that his post match comments after Nigeria's elimination from the 2014 FIFA World Cup has been misinterpreted.
The media has been awash late Monday evening and on Tuesday over the purported resignation of Stephen Keshi from his post.
"What I said to my players was that this maybe my last match at the helm of affairs in the national team, because my contract terminates with the World Cup and I have not been offered a new one" Keshi said on Tuesday.
" I was a bit shocked that the global media went to town to say I have called it quits with the national team. Resignations are not done on the pages of newspapers but formally", he said.
However,Keshi did not deny that some countries have shown interest in him which he believes is good for Nigerian football and coaches but assured that he will not abandon ship without a formal notice.
