Congrats to Zimbabwe and the team of about 50 local medical professionals for successfully performing the separation of Siamese twins at Harare Childrens Hospital.
Congrats also to Ms Agnes Mangoro the mother of the separated twins. The head of the surgical team was Dr. B. Mbuwayesango.
Zimbabwe indeed hosts one of the world's great monuments. Yesterday I was able to see what I call the Dzimbabwe Palace Complex also known as Enclosures.
Going up the hill and exploring the monument took about three hours. Lovemore Mwayiyanya turned out to be a fantastic guide (lovemoremwayiyana@yahoo.com).
Crossing the border at the Beitbridge Border post that separates South Africa from Zimbabwe was indeed a worthwhile experience.
Walking across the bridge meant walking over the Limpopo River into Zimbabwe. It took at least half an hour.....
TOFAC 2015 should include a tour to Mazvingo where the Great Zimbabwe Monuments reside. Mazvingo is about four hours by bus from the South African border town of Musina
in Polokwane province but I saw several buses moving from Mazvingo to Johannesburg. I imagine that you can get a bus from Johannesburg to Mazvingo too.
There are numerous hotels and guest houses including Great Zimbabwe Hotel, Chevron (chevron@icon.co.zw).
I have not seen the Masvingo Downtown Lodge on Hebert Chitepo Street
but heard about it (masvingodowntownlodge.com). Flamboyant Hotel etc.
