Ken, this is indeed a harrowing contradiction of what your previous post implied.

I don't expect you to underestimate the intelligence of this august group- so
I guess you are simply trying to eat your cake and still have it for dinner.

dear oa
i am talking about language; you about literal definitions. i wrote: "i
understand the words "conspiracy theory" to mean the views of someone
who is slightly paranoid, and the way it is expressed conveys this."
the use of those terms, paranoia, conspiracy theory, is rhetorical, not
literal. it is political speech; speech in the market place, how we
agree and disagree, not speech in the clinic.
so, that's how i take facebook, as a e-market place for the exchange of
ideas. not formally, nor formal speech; but ideas, concepts, and discussion.
the best way to talk, publicly.
i don't disparage it; i like it, until it becomes flaming. on this list,
often the humor is marvelous; often the anger is warranted; often the
info is important.
and sometimes there is an idea that is slightly off-the-wall.
that's ok; without it, the market place becomes anodyne.
so, it's ok to call someone slightly paranoid. we can debate it. and i
like that better than having to annotate or document, which i do in my
formal publications.
this is probably better, in the end, for the community who share it.
though admittedly, if we all went off the wall, i'd quit.

Experience counts for something. Agreement in the public square is not always conditional on 100 percent unanimity. Disagreement or doubt can be healthy. They should be encouraged. They should be disproved. They should not be hastily thrashed and whoever hold them called names. Experience teaches that the definition and advancement of the public interest are too important to be left to politicians and business people only. Why then is evidence based disagreement or doubt (remember they lied to us in the past for example) hurriedly dubbed a conspiracy theory driven by paranoia albeit slight? Is it sometimes because some privileged interest(s) may not be well served by the public knowing the plain and whole truth?

It is said that the AIDS researchers who lost their lives on the second Malaysian plane disaster were about to release evidence at a Melbourne conference of major evidence that the retrovirus HIV was engineered to be more virulent in order to cause a major crisis. As you may know, billions if not trillions were made from the treatment of AIDS and millions have lost their lives . There is video on YouTube entitled, "The Man who Invented AIDS," which is a must watch that everybody should see. Also, Cheney has a history with disease, having made a lot of money from the swine flu vaccine.

JR may be the richest man on earth and he is known for his hold over or close relationship to the treasuries of the world including the US. He is known for his control over the CIA and his influence over the American military. He has started many front organizations in coordination with the CIA with control over oil, media, and banking. What is curious is his stock in Blackrock that is majorly invested in Tekmira, a Canadian company with a "new" "experimental" drug that has just been approved for trials in humans. I mention this because it seems that JR just keeps having unbelievable luck. Invested in Ebola just as help is needed everywhere. And, secondly, happened not to be on a plane that almost all of his employees were on that went missing. Thirdly, because the other four owners were on that plane that went missing, JR suddenly became sole owner of a microchip that had just been patented the week before that experts are saying is primed to take over the world economy.
