Thanks for your response. You have raised some pertinent questions that I expected those who have objections to the new National Identity Card.
President Jonathan, in my opinion, couldn't get the ID Card contracted to any company without the input and approval of the National Assembly. If this assumption is correct, then we should ask the National Assembly whether they considered its implications to individual privacy, national security, national economy, national pride etc.
Nigerians supposedly elected members of National Assembly and they are expected to pursue their interest and not to mortgage it.
Until we have all the facts, it will be premature to condemn the project.
I will be delighted to read your letter on this issue. I hope you are doing pretty well.
