"However in reality, the 2014 National Conference is merely a phase, a significant phase characterized by concentrated interaction of inter and intra-class interactions and struggle, but nevertheless a phase in the process of the struggle to remake our country in general, and in the process of convening a representative assembly of the classes and strata of our people with sovereign and full constituent powers to initiate a new socio-economic and constitutional order.
In this sense therefore this conference haven occurred in history has a before, a during and an after; in other words, this conference was preceded and directly influenced by a history of agitations for a [Sovereign] National Conference; it was convened and held in the course of ongoing intensified class struggles for a national conference, a struggle that came to be waged inside the conference; and now after the submission of its report, its deliberations and decisions, the alliances forged and or rebuilt and strengthened on the floor of the conference, as well as the nature and character of the class struggle waged on the floor of the conference, will become part of the dynamics shaping our continued struggle for revolutionary transformation of our country."
- Jaye Gaskia
*scratches head* Are we talking about the same CONFab? Are we? Don't laugh, don't be befuddled, "Comrade" Jaye Gaskia is describing in revolutionary, almost romantic terms, the farce that was the CONfab, a feeding trough put together by wily President Goodluck Jonathan to breast-feed with public dollars unprincipled public figures (Pastor Tunde Bakare, Jaye Gaskia, etc. etc) and committed thieves and thugs ( DSP Alaiyemeiseigha who fled London's judicial clutches dressed as a woman and has been given a place in the pantheon on honor) and Bode George. Google them, these were the deadly buffoons that "Comrade" Gaskia broke bread with to chart the future of a country that they ruined in the first place. It was an expensive farce - essentially a public forum, an open mic event that earned each participant N12 million. Yea, yea, yea, Mr. Bakare did not collect his money he says, who cares? Why did he sit to vision Nigeria's future with criminals who make Anini and Oyenusi look like altar boys?
Our intellectuals are full of it, period, just full of it. They believe saying all the rght things and doing nothing or just the opposite will move Nigeria forward. And they do not understand why people are so angry at them. I mean, just read this man's bullcrap and ask him, when will you all begin to accept FULL responsibility for the rot that is Nigeria. And I don't want to hear all that crap about how we have to work with these thieves in order to move the nation forward. Same BS we were told during the prodemocracy struggle: Work with Tinubu and MKO and everything will be allright. Since 1999, no structural change of substance has taken place under democracy. In many ways, under the watch of the Gaskias of our world things have slid backwards. Our children have no schools, no hospitals, no playground outside of the Internet. And this man has the gall to come here and glorify a farce of an event that would have cost just $200 in a real country - for sodas and cookies.
Welcome to Animal Farm! There is something wrong with us. I swear there is something wrong with us. It is the white man's fault. Why is it the white man's fault? I don't know. I am just not accepting responsibility. I am an African intellectual. Nonsense.
