It is entirely possible that the elections even if marred by
irregularities here and there could be largely free of violence. In fact,
the doomsday predictions could set a stage for Nigeria to emerge, to the
other extreme, as a celebrated and exemplary democracy in Africa by these
same media precisely because the bar is now so low for success.
