--Buhari won - no buts, ifs. The hotly contested election has its up-side on democracy - regardless of the plays, which are inherent in opposition politics. I am wrapping up with Western spectators and speculators on African Affairs - as we monitored the returns from known and unofficial channels. When 3/4 of the votes came in, the Fat Lady Sang. I offered fried plantains, soya or suya, and assorted drinks from Africa. I don't know whether all these were duty free - say AGOA....LOL.
Wellu, wellu, Africa proved that on this, she needed no lecture on conducting credible elections. The calamitous projection from the Western and jaundiced press is not going to happen.
We must move on and wish Buhari God's speed in governing, including tackling to erase Boko Haram.
The life of each Nigerian and the sanctity of peace are more important than an election cycle. The national tasks ahead are more crucial. The polity cannot be over heated to embittered ends. Nigeria is too pivotal in African Affairs to let the sentiments of our preferences overshadow the greater good. I am proud of SouthEastern and the South-South States for holding to principles and convictions. The Ekiti Exceptionality, this smooch is for you! lol. Don't fear....retribution in SW. Buha will not lock up anyone for dissing him.
See some of you on April 17 at the US Congress - Leveraging Africa Diaspora Capital for Development. Buhari will also need that.... as all African governments....lol.
