Contrary to Soyinka ' s rambling to the Guardian UK election was peaceful, fair,and transparent. Some violence but nothing compared to previous elections. I observed the elections in Kaduna. Fifty per cent of voters were women who queued up from dawn, and waited patiently for the ballots to be counted.
Unprecedented! Gambo Sawaba, the legendary feminist politician who used to attend campaign rallies with a baby on her back, will smile in her grave.
