Boko Haram Pledges allegiance to ISIS

It's big news that Shekau wants to surrender to the Baghdad Caliph, but what does this mean in practical terms? It means that with ISIS North African connections, the Boko Haram people might be in a better position to receive a flow of arms from Libya etc. More headaches for Goodluck Jonathan or Muhammadu Buhari, whoever it is…
For now President Jonathan can begin to make a strong case and follow up on it: once Boko Haram becomes an affiliate of ISIS, his government is no longer only fighting domestic terrorism and that in addition - just as Chief Ositadinma Benjamin Chidoka was explaining on BBC Hardtalk - the whole Chad, North Cameroon area is at risk of being destabilized and the little Boko Haram insurgency is likely to spread further afield leaving its trademark death and destruction in its wake…
