Richard Feyiṣayọ A. Ṣoyọmbọ
March 25, 1959 – April 20, 2015
Nigerian Born, Richard F.A. Ṣoyọmbọ was the Dean, Global Learning Programs and Services
Division at Skyline College in San Bruno, California. Prior to that he was the Director of the Bay
Area Center for International Trade Development (CITD) also at Skyline College. With almost
two decades of experience in international business development, Richard played various roles in
both the public and private sectors. A strategic planning and positioning specialist, he possessed a
solid background in successful international market growth solutions, localization of plants and
personnel, distributor network development and multiculturalism.
Richard was a specialist in the markets of Latin America, the African sub-Sahara and Southeast
Asia. His previous jobs included serving as the Assistant to the Director of Latin American Trade
(MASSPORT - Massachusetts Port Authority) where he was responsible for various projects in
Latin America including Trade Missions, Trade Shows, etc. He was Adjunct Faculty at various
California colleges, and served as a consultant on minority business development. Richard was an
acknowledged speaker/writer at several international forums and sat on the Boards of two
prominent Chambers of Commerce in San Francisco, California: SF Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce and SF Black Chamber of Commerce. He was very involved in various Nigeria-
America causes. Richard was multilingual speaking over four languages including Spanish,
Portuguese, English and Yoruba. He is survived by three adult children Ivane Fọlaramin Ṣoyọmbọ,
Nathan Kọlajọ Ṣoyọmbọ, Joshua Ọladeji Ṣoyọmbọ, his wife, Jumọkẹ Akin-Taylor, his brothers
and sisters, Ambassador Kunle Ṣoyọmbọ, Dr. Ayọ Ṣoyọmbọ, Professor Ọmọlolu Ṣoyọmbọ, Mrs.
Ṣade Ọmọlọla, Mrs. Taiwo Odubiyi, Mr. Kẹhinde Ṣoyọmbọ and his mother, Mrs. Victoria
Ṣoyọmbọ.
