It's a pan-African issue.
Among other nations, Nigeria and Nigerians have been reacting very strongly to attacks on African immigrants in South Africa but less is being said about the boat tragedies or the plight of Nigerian or indeed other African immigrants to Italy
Nigeria being the world's most populous Black nation, Nigeria of course will always appear to be overrepresented in any kind of statistics you can imagine.
If Africa was heaven, it's doubtful that Africans would still be risking their lives and voluntarily emigrating to Europe in this manner; but Africa is not heaven – at least, not for the miserable, underprivileged and poor masses, including those who are in the African Diaspora West – in the greener pastures of Europe, North America and the Far East from where they are forever preaching about Négritude, Black Power, Africa must unite etc.
To turn the tide, Africa must be made to be the place to which everybody - including everybody in Sweden would like to emigrate. But that is most unlikely as we continue to sing "Du Gamla, Du Fria" as our voices swell to the most emotional part of the chorus,
Nej, jag vill leva jag vill dö i Norden.
Nej, jag vill leva jag vill dö i Norden.
This translates:
No, I want to live I want to die in the North.
No, I want to live I want to die in the North.
Where would you like to live and die?
Only asking,
CH
