- Oluwabright Ejiagbe Jnr That is politicians for you. they sweat talk you to get what they want, and do what they like when they get the power. God help us
- Mufutau Adegoke Omotosho this hatread is going too far ... So Buhari is a thief in power .... And predecessors before him are saints or they are all thieves like him (another thief)????Nigerians ?!!!!!!!! We are getting too partisan in our deeds and sayings
- Yetunde Babajide @ Mufu. Lmao, going too far? Let me say it again.. BUHARI IS ANOTHER THIEF IN POWER. NOW GO AHEAD AND DELETE ME. All of us cannot be bench warmer at thesame time, someone has to speak up. As we speak the Nigerian president was building helipad while millions can't get paid, the price of food is going up again, what happened to job creation? where is the change now? and in fact, it has also been estimated that millions cannot be accounted for within his few days in office. He is another THIEF in power, please, tell him i said so.
- Nanwor Mamven Yetunde Babajide the importance of a helipad in Daura is that the President's trip to his home which he is entitled to would cost less as such PMB would be delivering on his promise to make governance cheaper, more money for amenities for the common man. Remember the media reports about the cost of Alison- Madueke's travels????
- Nanwor Mamven Yetunde Babajide you are quite pedestrian in your thinking, that there are no ministers yet does not mean the ministries are shutdown. Is the ministry of finance a handbag? Is it the minister for petroleum that keeps physical records of production?
- Kenny Ojo Enia o ribi sun aja harun. Helipad ni wa kan ni eyin agba oselu
- Yetunde Babajide Nanwor Mamven. First of all lady! The beauity of democracy lies in checks and balance, one of the reasons it is important to have Minister of finance or oil in place is that it keep the president in check so that president is not overseeing everything, if you allow just one man to do so, it will lead to tyranny and abuse of power, so as we speakk Buhari ought to have appoint many people along the line, but he refused and ofcourse he has his own mission. Which is to steal without a trace since no one wil question him. My dear, Nigeria is getting paid everyday in millions and the only person who is in charge of that right now is Buhari and Buhari only. No 2.
- Oluwatoyin Vincent Adepoju food for thought
- Yetunde Babajide No2. The helipad has no direct benefit to an average Nigerian out there, yes he may want to visit his home state, but that is not suppose to be on agenda number one, the helipad is not done on his own private money but on Nigeria money, and in fact, the public office is not supose to be an avenue to live a luxury lifestyle, he is not a musician or a bussiness owner, he is just a president, his duty is to serve and not enrich himself, only in Nigeria you can have people like u who may believe that his office is entitled to this and that. No, he is not entitled to no helipad. The last time i checked, Obama on many occassions has to to be transported from private helicopter back inside the car to get to his private house in illinois, what they will do is fly him to airforce base, pack the helicopter there since it belogs to the government, then they will provide him with his official car to transport him around the city.
"Aviation authorities start building helipad in Daura to enable Buhari fly there directly "
"FEDERAL aviation authorities have started building a helipad in President Muhammadu Buhari's hometown of Daura that will enable him fly directly there from Abuja and avoid the cumbersome journey through Katsina.
At the moment, whenever President Buhari wants to visit Daura, he flies to Katsina, the state capital and then drives overland to his country home. With the construction of the helipad, it will save President Buhari the hassle of embarking on a road journey from Katsina Airport as he will be able to fly in one of the presidential helicopters straight to Daura and by-pass Katsina Airport completely.
One presidency source said: "I can tell you that right now, they are building a helipad in Daura and when it is completed he doesn't have to fly to Katsina Airport again. Helipad is a kind of landing for helicopters.
"The maximum number of functional planes we have right now is six and out of that six, there is a high usage for it. Consider that last week in one day, the president used one to Katsina, the vice president used the other one to Lagos and the senate president used the third one to meet President Olusegun Obasanjo at Abeokuta via Lagos and later to Ilorin, Kwara State."
President Buhari has directed that nine of the VIP transport aircraft in the presidential fleet should be sold as part of the federal government's cost-saving measures. Although the presidency has since denied such directives but industry sources have confirmed that such plans are in the pipeline.

Yetunde Babajide LMAO Yetunde Babajide Wasiu Oladele, please show ya face now to defend this, i thought they met empty treasury, all this mago, mago will not work. Out of all the things that matter most helipad takes the cake. Right?, LMAO. Mr. Wasiu, show ya face now to defend this or you remain...., u can help me finish the rest. LMAO/9000000. Yetunde Babajide @ Wasiu Oladele Afolabi. For example in a normal setting and by the USA Helipda contruction company, it is estimated that the COST OF HELIPAD CONSTRUCTION stand at $5.7 million. Pls come and defend this please. http://stophelipad.org/costs.shtmlThe cost of a single helicopter patient transfer ranges... Yetunde Babajide In a well functioning society right now, the Foundation For Responsible Accountable Government would have put in forward a petitioin to stop this unbelievable spending that has no direct impact on the lives of everyday people in Nigeria. You just don't dig ur hand in Nigerian money and start spending anyhow. Buhari's "so called"change" is built on lies and propaganda. Thompson Taiwo Olaniyi Yetunde, you've said it all, you said in a "functioning" society and this ours is in contrast of a functioning society then what would you expect. We seems to be pushing our luck too much. Yetunde Babajide You are right, however, we have to start from somewhere, we are citizens of Nigeria, remember it was our inability to speak up and unite as one for good cause that led us into this in the first place, so we have to speak up and in fact, those at the working societies didn't fold their arms either, so we all have to condermn this unbelievable spending that has no impact on the lives of the people whose money they are spending. Public office is not a private bussiness. Don Pere's Peresky All this is part of empty tresury Kayode Odunmbaku Eey ..yaah Wasiu Oladele Afolabi I don't buy into helipad for the president. But how much is $5.7 million dollars in the money the last administration wasted on entourage to United Nation? Buhari is a very thrifty person when it comes to spending money unnecessarily. Then, I will ask you how authentic is this news? If the cumbersome of Katsina is the reason for that construction or the norm of Nigerian presidency? I think it is the norms because the same thing was done for Obasanjo on his Otta Farm to enable his transportation from Lagos to Otta. And I knew President Jonathan constructed an airport which costs billions of dollars. This might be out of place this austere time, but if it is a norm that is part of their entitlements let's make no big deal out this. Onyekachi Emmanuel Buhari is back to acquire things he didnt have as a former president. Who doesn't want a good life? Yemi Odunaike Yetunde Babajide like emoticon like emoticon like emoticon help me manage thumbs ups cos i no get smileys to blow you a kiss for job well done. . .Investigative Blogger! You get mouth! Yetunde Babajide LOL Segun Remi Adejumo What a waste!!! Wow! This is indeed change in disguise. Remember when Obasanjo was there, there wasn't helipad, YarAdua even the most hated ex-president, nothing like helipad at their respective home towns, why Daura? It is all about power mongering please. In one Obasanjo's trips to Ibadan along Challenge/Iwo Road, he had a flat tyre, although that called for emergence attention. Tell me what will his visit to Daura benefit the nation for crying aloud sake? Rubbish!!! This is just a waste of another destiny, it is a repeat of what he did during his tenure in 1983-1985 when he transformed the town. Nigerians need to be wise cry to God for a way out and not believing in a mortal being. Bankole Rasheed Olawale Wasiu Oladele Afolabi. Shall we continue in sin and allow grace to abound? If truly GEJ wasted a lot of money in travelling, should it therefore be an Avenue for PMB to squander all our fortune? Can two wrongs makes a right?
For us to move forward in this nation, we should be able to chastise our leaders for their wrong doings, even though they are our preferred. When then shall we reach the promise land? Brendan Ezeh U can imagine. Nigeria workers are been owed 11months salary, no ministers, nothing for de crowd that stood by him. less 100 days in office, helipad is what is most important. pity this nation. Oluseun Samuel Osibajo lots of Nigerians don't know the meaning of helipad, some of high rise buildings and hotels has helipad, a flat space helicopter can land Yetunde Babajide @ Oluseun Samuel Osibajo. Eeya, thank u for telling us, can u now tell us about the impact of helipad to a common man struggling to meet ends meet out there in Nigeria now? and in fact, please, tell us how this will reduce the cost of food or housing for example in Nigeria? And by the way, of what purpose is that helipad to the Nigerian governmnet as we speak? Is Daura thesame as Aso rock Villa? Brendan Ezeh @ Samuel if u like let it be a culvert where motor pass, aviation expert. is that a priority as it stands now. why re we supporting this kind of govt. Yetunde Babajide @ Brendan. Exactly, this is a president that promised to reduce the cost of governance and he is out there bulding helipad on Nigerian money, like seriously, a public office shouldn't have to be a means to live a luxury life, at the end that helicopter belongs to Nigeria, why is he bulding helipad then? All these show of shame need to stop in Africa, where those at the public office think they are entitled to some type of special treatment while their people suffer. Oluseun Samuel Osibajo Yetunde Babajide David mark has helipad in his house, people are complaining because Nigerians are well inform from the presidency about the project. Yetunde Babajide @ Oluseun. Right, in fact a security guard too can now have it as long as he is in office in Nigeria, however, that is not what an agent of change is suppose to be doing, he promised to bring CHANGE remember? He suppose to lead by example. This whole thing is looking like a scam, ok? Onwa Donjazzy Oluseun Samuel Osibajo,I see u are d next aviation minister. A flat place Where helicopters land is bn acquired with just a laughter. foolish reasoning Agu Ukoh Yeti my dearest Nigerians aint seen any thing yet ! More blunders are still to come , the best President GOD gave Nigerians , they rejected him , just like Jesus was giving to Mankind and we absolutely rejected and killed him , now mankind is calling him . I even read Dele Momodu writting him an open letter , that he is not living up to the promise he gave NIGERIANS for there votes , my answer to him , is , you aint seen any thing yet Dele ! Ifidon Sonia hey! wait a minute,
is this not the president that travelled with almost zero aides in economy class, drinks fura or a sachet of milo as shown sometime ago, so as to help cut expenses for our dear nation? so many cut down they made themselves believe? Bankole Rasheed Olawale @ Oluseun Samuel Osibajo. Have read your comment very well. Any Nigerian can have an helipad in his building as long as he can afford it. But the question now is: of what benefit is the helipad that was built with Nigeria money after PMB is no longer the president of the country? It's definitely going to be converted to his own personal use. How many leaders in the world has an helipad in their home land? To me, it's a white elephant project, no matter how small the amount may be. Yetunde Babajide It i sunbelievable that a man that promised so much is now bulding helipad when millions are out there without food, shelter, money to feed temselves and all that, like i have been saying, with the way things are looking now, he is only going to line his pocket and that of his children where everyone can now start flying in from their school overseas straight to their compound in Katsina, everything he couldn't get in 1984 will be acquired in a speed, while the situation remain thesame. Yetunde Babajide That is the reason, he won't appoint anyone on time, as we speak, Nigeria is making millions each day, the only person who is in charge of all that is Buhari, he can take, spend and do whatever he want since no one as been appointed to keep the record with him. We don't have no Minister of finace whatsoever. No Minister is in charge of oil too and Nigeria is making millions everyday. Here is Another THIEF in power.Daniel Wilson Yetunde Babajide, can i quote you?
Helipad, Helipad, grandpa is building a helipad in his Daura. That is how to cut cost you know. Especially when you meet an empty treasury.
He drinks satchet milo at Transcorp, uses Mercedes something something, in fact, have you heard about how he travelled with some people to South Africa, paid for his hotel room across the desk and told them to pay for their rooms by themselves - some grown ups believed the story and are spreading it. They believe that the president of NIGERIA pays for his hotel room with cash at a hotel reception
Don't forget this helipad was not included in the 2015 budget. Grandpa is obviously building the helipad from his pocket since the treasury is empty or what could it be?
Here is a drama king, Buoda Dele Momodu's recently released picture of himself with a tear in the eye.
I don't know what or why he was crying, I simply saw a long letter accompanied with a picture. I don't read rubbish anymore so I have posted it for people to read and interpret to me.
Prudent Chizaram Hahaha. He should save those tears for future, cos he aint seeing anything yet.
Write a reply... Edwin Moore Momife Joker Inno Uzuh Cfr I can't find my geography book. I want to find out the distance between Katsina airport and daura. I know Jonathan used to travel from pH by road to otuoke. May be baba B dey fear Boko Haram. But he is a general nah.

Abdulrazaq Ibrahim Mustapha Cassava, palm wine, abaacha, garden egg, exportation, ready made market in asia, Change unfolding... SAI BABA! .. Ben Justina We are witnessing change ke, lol Marleek Azuanuka Onyekaba When Grandpa leaves office will the helipad be returned to FGN? Inno Uzuh Cfr Thanks, my big Oga Ozumba. You said it is a distance of 84.4 km that will take close to 2 hrs by driving. I was thinking that it is much more better he flies a chopper to his home town. My opinion may look too commonplace but I shall still make it.
#1. I think flying by chopper will save the citizens a lot of disruptions caused by VVIP movement from the airport. We suffered so much in abuja whenever jonathan and his over 40 car escorts are moving from d airport to the state house.
#2. It will remove the need for a long motorcade, the security details and the costs on other logistics.
#3. It is better security-wise.
#4. It will free the police and soldiers who usually stand sentry along the path of the presidential movt for more serious duties. For instance, they line up from d state house here up to the airport in abuja. This may happen for several hours.
#5. Flying home with a chopper will save the president about one and half hour based on your calculation.
#6. The cost for this helipad shouldn't be so much, and can easily be funded from the president's security vote.Marleek Azuanuka Onyekaba Oga Inno Uzuh Cfr how was he going home in 1984-85? They told us he will not disrupt traffic when he moves around abi you forget that one?
The last time we(a coy I previously worked for) rehabilitated a helipad for a multinational oil company at a gas plant, it cost less than $60,000. That included the purchase and installation of modern aviation equipments to allow for night landings as well.
From my estimation, to build a new helipad with modern aviation equipments at Daura should not cost more than $150,000. That is, if the contract is not bloated in the Nigerian way. There are tens of such helipads scattered around oil flowstations here in the Niger Delta.
So if Mr. President wants to have a $150,000 helipad at his hometown for convenience and aviation safety. There is nothing wrong in that.
The helipad will likely be built on a government land and will remain an FG infrastructure. There is nothing wrong with that.
Such stories should not even make the headline.
Some individuals have helipads in their private residences here in Nigeria, what then is wrong in the President of Nigeria having one at his hometown?
Afterall, it will be a property of the govt after his tenure.
Henry Handelson Nigerians! Tony Osborg Henry, what about Nigerians? Bamidele Yusuf Its no big deal building an helipad wt an empty treasury at daura....after all,no money was spent.....just empty treasury... Vivian Oghenekaro So Nigeria stopped earning money since May 29th smh Bamidele Yusuf Yes O...GEJ has blocked all d revenue source,no tax remittance, oil coy has since stopped exploration, VAT sealed, sea Ports closed,Airport port closed...Infact no revenue accruing since May29 handover..... APC....chanji... Amebo Uniport he will monetize it and buy it from Nigeria in leaving like Amaechi and his commissioners Bruno C. Desire I thought he ordered the auctioning off of the previous official jets... what is he planning?Oluwatoyin Vincent Adepoju Of what value is a helipad in Daura to the Nigerian govt since you say the it will be the property of the govt after his tenure?
