Ex- FUTA VC, Prof. Ilemobade, laid to rest

The remains of the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, late Professor Albert Ilemobade, has been buried in his country-home, Ondo, on Thursday.

The late Professor of Veterinary Medicine and Chief Executive Officer of Upline Resources Foundation was killed by his domestic staff on June 22, 2015, at his Ijapo Evidence, Akure, Ondo State capital.

At the funeral service of the late professor, held at the All Saints Anglican Church, Ogbonkowo, the Bishop of Ondo Diocese of Anglican Communion, Most Rev.Latunji Lasebikan, said death was inevitable and urged the congregation to always serve God diligently.

Referring to the circumstance that surrounded the demise of Ilemobade, the clergyman said, death could only kill the body but not the soul for somebody that was in Christ.

He said, "Ilemobade did not deserve to die the way he died, as God-fearing somebody, but God Almighty has written it that he would die in the hands of those he employed as driver and security man. Aside the academic excellence, he was a good Christian."

He also stressed the need for people to leave good legacy behind in whatever position they might be called upon to serve in the future, charging the congregation to always walk in the way of the Lord in other to inherit the eternity.

He described the late varsity don as a good administrator, who was hardworking and God fearing. He said he made a lot leader who made lots of contributions to the physical development of the Anglican Church in the area as well as academic environment.

In his remark after the service, the state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, described the late Ilemobade as a rear gem who rendered selfless service to humanity and mankind.

He described the deceased as an Icon and astute administrator, who lived a good life and made valuable contributions to the development of education in Ondo State and Nigeria in general. The governor later prayed for his family.

The funeral service had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life, most especially the people in the academic community.
