From: Oladimeji Aborisade: Please, allow me to make a few comments on the " list of illegal tertiary institutions in Nigeria". 65 of them. Please, NUC, you have been on this problem for a long time. You have not come with a good answer. This is the Foundation of Corruption in Nigeria. If it is difficult for the NUC to monitor very effectively and punish individual setting up illegal tertiary institutions in Nigeria, the word corruption may have no end. Problem of corruption is among the elites not the farmers or villagers. I will suggest that you make a clear statement that those institutions are hereby "CLOSED" and their leaders are charged to court immediately. Those who TEACH in those Institutions as Part Time Teachers should be told to leave now or see themselves loosing their jobs with their Universities. Please carry states along on this complex challenge. Thank you. oladimeji aborisade.

Subject: USA Africa Dialogue Series - NUC releases list of illegal tertiary institutions (See full list)
The National Universities Commission has released a list of illegal degree awarding institutions operating in Nigeria.
The schools were published in the NUC's weekly bulletin dated August 24.
According to the bulletin, the NUC Executive secretary, Julius Okojie, warned that those who patronise the schools, do so at their own risk.
"Certificates obtained from these sources will not be recognized for the purpose of NYSC, employment and further studies," the NUC said.
