"It is the competition for the scarce commodity of land that has brought about friction between the Fulani's and the indigenous people along these reserves. So what do we do? What is the solution? Obviously we cannot do nothing and watch as people continue to die all over Nigeria.

We must do something and I propose that Nigeria should take the following series of steps.

We should restore the ancient grazing routes of Fulani pastoralists. Both the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Ministry of Lands should work with the apex Fulani pastoral association, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, to revive these routes and where there have been farms or houses built on these routes, alternative routes must be found.

Next, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture should give a deadline of no less than 10 years to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association to convert from pastoral cattle rearing to the modern business of cattle ranching in which cattle are reserved, reared and bred at a central location suitable for such purposes."

Although Ben Bruce might be well meaning, it is important that he perish his extremely very bad idea from hell, that "We should restore the ancient grazing routes of Fulani pastoralists."

Just what ancient routes is he talking about? Does he not understand and, in fact, realize that ALL of the routes through the Middle-Belt and the South run though land owned by communities and/or individuals?

What naiveté!

Why is he so sure that the Fulani will implement his second part of the so called suggestion – "Next, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture should give a deadline of no less than 10 years to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association to convert from pastoral cattle rearing to the modern business of cattle ranching in which cattle are reserved, reared and bred at a central location suitable for such purposes."

Need we remind Ben Bruce that the Fulani is an ethnic nationality that is not indigenous to Nigeria but consider Nigeria their conquered territory to do as they see fit; who are still intent on achieving the vision of Fodio?

Need we also remind Ben Bruce of the recent blackmail by the Fulani that blood will flow unless Buhari is selected as president, an election in which toddlers were allowed to openly vote in the North?

Obviously, the born-to-rule dogged embrace of the current totally undemocratic polity biased in their favor, a deliberately imposed form, many thanks to the British government; and their refusal to allow or support the restructuring of Nigeria to equitably reflect the recognition of all nationalities (many in the North) as part of the polity continue in play. That they still labor under the false impression and misconception that they can seize power by intimidation, anarchy and mayhem or through the barrel of a gun is not surprising. Neither surprising is their belief in the outdated strategy of their Spiritual leader, the Sarduana of Sokoto, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello (1909-1966), the belief that Nigeria is their conquered territory to do with as they see fit; leading, of course, to the continuing total, unchallenged and unquestioned domination, pillaging and looting of Nigeria.

"The new nation called Nigeria should be an estate of our great grandfather Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools and the South as a conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us and never allow them to have control over their future".

The above irrational belief is traceable to the vision, below, of their priest Fodio, of which the British government were well aware of even as they were determined to use it as a weapon against the ungrateful Nigeria ethnic nationalities especially the uppity Igbo.

 

"In this apparition Fodie was informed that the whole of that beautiful country around them, with all its populous towns and countless villages, belonged to the believers in the prophet, to wit the Phula; and that it was Fodie's divine commission, with the help of the faithful, to wrest all those flowery plains, fruitful hill, and those lovely valleys, from the hand of the Kafirs, and then to bring all the Kafirs into subjection to the Islam, and to devote to the sword everyone who refused to believe."

Any attempt to proffer solutions to the grazing dilemma must take the above fact into consideration, in fact, Ben Bruce's second suggestion, that "the Federal Ministry of Agriculture should give a deadline of no less than 10 years to the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association to convert from pastoral cattle rearing to the modern business of cattle ranching in which cattle are reserved, reared and bred at a central location suitable for such purposes", contains the solution to the problem.

The Core-North has lots of land that can be designated as ranches, today, and plentiful supply of water from dams, what prevents them using those lands as grazing lands? Why wait for ten years?

Mr. Ben Bruce, please perish your very bad idea from HELL that can only lead to the realization of Fodio's vision!
