The quotation credited to Dr. Ben Carson is debatable. The technological and socio-cultural development of Egypt before, during and after slavery era would have set a perfect pace for the general and religious development of African nations.

"Actually slavery was the best thing that could have happened to us. Because of slavery blacks were brought to America we met the Christian faith. We met Jesus Christ. If it were not for slavery we would all be in Africa, hanging from trees and worshiping Allah. God always get's it right!" (Dr. Ben Carson - not to be confused with the one known as "Dr. Ben")
