USA Africa Dialogue Series - Re: Today's Quote

Not knowing from which context that statement is isolated, the intent is nevertheless clear: Bishop Kukah is either insinuating or trying to caution by stating blandly that in his first coming, Muhammadu Buhari was toppled by a military coup because he was fighting corruption. Fighting hard.

This time, Muhammadu Buhari has the mandate of the people who elected him, to be true to the various agendas and legal remedies that address corruption.

The Bishop alleges that, "there was no Nigerian on the street the day he was toppled".

That should come as no surprise to the bishop, considering that when Jesus the Redeemer was arrested, all his disciples forsook him and fled.

And of course it is quite clear that Muhammadu Buhari the honest general is more like Jesus than like Goodluck Jonathan…

So, either the Bishop believes that the counter-coup by some corrupt, rogue elements in the army was overwhelmingly supported by some like-minded people or that in period of  Nigeria's history , no Nigerian had balls enough to demonstrate against the military taking over again, in yet another coup. But for fear, some unarmed people should have been out on the street, demonstrating against whom?  OK, maybe not unarmed, maybe armed with sticks and stones against the Nigerian military?

This time around Muhammadu Buhari having been democratically elected by a majority of Nigerians for the purpose of fulfilling an agenda, he has a moral obligation do so.

Some of these bishops! What else has the Bishop been saying?
