Ayo Ojutalayo:
First, Season's Greetings to you.....hope your Christmas Day was lovely, and am sure that you are looking forward to a Happy New Year....
Secondly, people like Nebukadineze Adiele should know by now that historically I SCOPE out my subjects of interest when I write about them....I just don't shoot off the hip or write at the spur of the moment - at least the overwhelming most of the time!
So that is why I have tried to find out a little about Nnamdi Kanu from afar, to know what makes his mind work, what makes him tick, to determine his background, including his drop-out-ed-ness from Joe Attueyi's other-campus alma mater, UNN, his Afaraukwu prince-ly-ness, etcheram, ad nauseum.
Here are some gems:
QUOTE
We left Aba a little past 11 in the morning on Tuesday and on getting to Ubakala, Umuahia, some 12 kilometres from Nnamdi Kanu's village, we stopped to see a friend, an activist in his own right. We asked whether he knew Nnamdi and he responded, "I don't know that chap, but I know the father closely, he is a traditional ruler of Isiama Afara, their fence wall is backing the Ojukwu bunker, go, people will show you the place." "Oh! Nnamdi is a Prince was the thought that ran across my mind".
UNQUOTE
Aha...clue No. 1: the "Ojukwu bunker" close to his family wall must have reached mythical proportions to Nnamdi Kanu - who was born AFTER THE WAY - at least just around 1975. So he is an impressionable fellow. Maybe, he even saw Dim Ojukwu visit the place episodically, and maybe Nnamdi slept in the bed in the bunker, and had images of himself in bigger glory....
Another issue: Nnamdi had been arrested before, and given a warning. So now he broke his word and parole terms, both to DSS and to his father, to "show his true color."
QUOTE
.....(as Nnamdi was going back to London, he was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. "When I was informed about his arrest, I rushed down to Port Harcourt, from there, I went to Abuja. At Abuja, the men at the DSS office treated me with respect and after explaining things to them, they asked me to take Nnamdi home. It was when we came back that my son told me he was going to appear in his true colour, to make sure that Biafra was realised". To start with, Nnamdi left his job in Britain where he is a citizen, to be fully involved in the struggle and built the Radio Biafra/TV which has taken the country like a storm.
UNQUOTE
The DSS apparently don't want to make the same mistake twice....once bitten, twice shy....his parole was revoked.
I also found out about his 83-year-old father and nwanyi-ocha Mother (who Nnamdi and fine sister Princess Chinwe takes after):
r
Eze Kanu is not just King I but King II (Egwukwu 2 of Afarauwku Ibeku), of a community that has been seceding, and seceding from each other......they called them "political re-alignments", with some "autonomous communities" seceding from Ibeku. And maybe being a prince, Nnamdi Kanu will be King over a post-seceded entity:
QUOTE
About Afara
HISTORY OF AFARAUKWU
AFARAUKWU is one of the Egwu's in the IBEKU Egwu Asaa clan. AFARAUKWU is historically known as the opara of IBEKU. It is bordered by Ndume, Ossah, Old Umuahia, Olokoro and part of Umuahia city. AFARAUKWU has three autonomous communities namely OKWULAGA, OHOKOBE NA UMUOKEYI, and ISIAMA.
Until recently, AFARAUKWU was governed by one of the chiefs in the council of Eze Ogurube of IBEKU known as Egwukwu of AFARAUKWU IBEKU. Based on a recent political realignment, AFARAUKWU was recognized as an autonomous community by the Abia state government of Nigeria. Following this recognition Eze Patrick Obike was crown the Egwukwu 1 of AFARAUKWU IBEKU. Upon his death HRH Eze Isreal O. Kanu was crowned the Egwukwu 2 of AFARAUKWU IBEKU. Still in his tenure as Egwukwu 2, the sub clan of Ibeku went through another political realignment that created the three mentioned autonomous communities of Okwulaga, Ohokobe na Umuokeyi, and Isiama. It is note worthy here to say that the central Ama of AFARAUKWU is the Orieogwu market.
OKWULAGA comprises of Ohobo na Umuizu (who are kin and cannot inter marry), and Agata (Ngbediala, Umueke, Ogwu and Oshoha who are also kin and cannot inter marry). Currently Okwulaga has an Eze of her autonomous community as HRH Eze Edward Ibeabuchi (the Okwu 1 of Okwulaga).
OHOKOBE NA UMUOKEYI, comprises of Ogburu-urie, Umuchukwu, Umuoriete and Mbara-Ikoro. Currently they are known as the Enyiukwu autonomous community and has her Eze as HR H Eze P.N.K. Ukaegbu (Enyi 1 of Enyiukwu Autonomous Community).
UNQUOTE
So Nnamdi Kanu obviously wants to "politically re-align" Nigeria too?....Let him say so, but not to secede.....Nigeria does need "political re-alignment" along truly cooperative federalism lines....but secession? Mba nu....
And now really there you have it.....so when it comes to echoes of terrorism, amanjakiri that many of our Igbo compatriots, particularly in the Diaspora, are so fond off, does not help ANYBODY....it should be stepped down.
Season's greetings, ojare...

(ii) VC Aluko asserts that Kanu was born in Nigeria simply because Kanu's father is an Eze, yet he never told us when the man became an Eze and where he lived before becoming an Eze or when Nnamdi Kanu was born. The man has made Wikipedia:QUOTEKanu was born in Isiama Afara, Abia State, Nigeria. His father is HRM Eze Israel Okwu Kanu (JP) and his mother is Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu.[1] He attended Library Avenue Primary School (now part of Government House, Umuahia) and went to Government College for his secondary education. He later gained admission to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), where he could not finish due to incessant strikes before he left for London to complete his tertiary education.[1]UNQUOTESo na for Isiama Afara, near Obi Nwakanma's hometown, about four to five years after Obi was born......na dere dem born am....go GCU, den UNN but him drop out....If all of that is untrue, prove it.,..afara!(ii) VC Aluko has no evidence that Kanu held a Nigerian passport when he was arrested, yet he asserts that Kanu is a Nigerian citizen. Not all Nigerian citizens have Nigerian passports...I have written NOTHING about Kanu's Nigerian passport.....he may be traveling with fake papers, for all I know....(iv) VC Aluko claims that Kanu's hometown is closer to Obi Nwakanma's hometown without telling us from where he erroneously believes that Nwakanma hails. I know professor Nwakanma's hometown and I assert authoritatively that it is closer to Ikwere than to Ibeku.Where did Ikwere come into this picture, biko nu? You are thinking of Reuben Okala again? I did not use the comparative adjective "closer" but the simple adjective "close to Obi Nwakanma's home town" (abi na adverb sef?) Ibeku is closer to Nwakanma''s hometown than to Ode-Ekiti, abi?Everywhere is close to every where else in SE geo-zone anyway.....(v) In so many ways, VC Aluko is the archetype of Nnamdi Kanu -- he once had his own bootleg radio station through which he spewed the same degree of propaganda upon which he indicts Kanu;I am not indicting Kanu for propaganda....I have a soft spot for his radio work....but for seeking weapons in broad day video light in LA to war against Nigeria, boasting about it and his guerrilla radio, and then walking into the arms of Nigerian security in Lagos, just like that...not very smart, I would say....he allegedly made and organized the throwing of bombs all around Nigeria (something Kanu has never done);Nope, never did that....not so dumb. America was still a "friendly" country to Nigeria during Abacha, and "doing arms" in the US would have been down-right silly....he was a fugitive from justice after being declared wanted by Nigeria for terrorist crimes.I was never a fugitive....did not leave Nigeria because of Abacha, but just stayed in place, to wait him out.Being sought by him was a badge of honor........if I were caught by him though, people like you and your ilk would come and lie about me, and I would have had to spend time in his gulag explaining myself, while people like you would be busy concocting documents to implicate me....yep, I am pretty sure about that. I did not want that situation....You see, I am denying it, and yet you are repeating it.......typical...In short, in Nigeria's Abacha era, VC Aluko was more a treasonous felon than Nnamdi Kanu could ever be accused of being. But there would have been NO VIDEO or ANY WRITTEN DOCUMENT to show that I was warring against the Nigerian state.....or intending to. Nnamdi Kanu cannot say the same thing....But like Judas Ischariot, the Sanhedrins, or the Centurion Servants who accused Mary Magdalene of prostitution,You too? Wanders will never seize....VC Aluko is shouting, "crucify Kanu, crucify Kanu", based on a pack of cockamamie charges by the incompetent lawyers in Nigeria.Oh no, I am not shouting for him to be crucified. But he sure is a POI - a Person of Interest to the security in Nigeria...he does have questions to answer. For over 15 years that we have come to know of what was in Bolaji Aluko's file within the Nigerian SSS (thanks to his father's honesty), never once did Bolaji Aluko deny making and throwing bombs all around Nigeria except last month. Hitherto, he had basked in the glory of having been the tough guy who dared Abacha and made him sleepless at night, even if what did to that effect was making and throwing bombs all around Nigeria.I have CONSISTENTLY denied it, even when it would have made me look like a toughie.....Today, VC Aluko is intent on ingratiating himself to president Buhari, whom Abacha adored, apologized to for joining IBB to overthrow him, and begged to head the PTF as a sign that he actually accepted his apology. VC Aluko wants to sacrifice Nnamdi Kanu in appeasement to Muhammadu Buhari. Omaghi eme -- it will not happen!Silly speculations these....very Attueyian,.....very silly.....you must be in menopausal grip yourself...The stupid prosecutors in Nigeria have no case. Kanu can only be convicted on these stupid charges only at a Kangaroo court in a totalitarian state. Olola Kassim is a brilliant man and a sound diplomat; he is correct that Nigeria has no case against Kanu and that its best bet is to deport Kanu to his country of citizenship -- the United Kingdom.I know Ola Kassim more than yourself...enough said.VC Aluko should get on some pills to calm him down, for crying out loud.Okay...I am calming down....and breathing up and down...Nebukadineze Adiele

Bolaji:I believe that raising the issue of illegal importation of radio transmitters is nit picking on the part of the federal prosecutors and that it probably betrays the lack of a strong case against Nnamdi Kanu on their part.I do not believe that Mr Kanu has committed a treasonable or seditious offence. As reprehensible as his rhetorics against the Nigerian state and his call for the Igbo to kill all Yoruba or northern Nigerians who come asking about Radio Biafra have been, they are still within the realm of protected free speech until they are acted upon.My solution to the nuisance case of Nnamdi Kanu's pesky little ant that has landed on the sensitive scrotum if the FGN is to bundle him up and send him back to the UK a country in which he also holds dual citizenship. He should be declared a persona non grata and as an enemy of the Nigerian state. He would be free to keep on broadcasting his IPOB messages from the UK whilst Nigerians, inclusive of the overwhelming majority of the Igbo move on with the task of building a united and Prosperous Nigeria.Keeping Nnamdi Kanu in jail simply raises his profile and gives him an undeserved recognition!Bye,Ola
Sent from my iPhoneAyo:I agree with you ......Nnamdi Kanu is NOT a traitor: he has NOT betrayed Nigeria to any foreign country.Rather, he is going after a legitimate ambition illegally, in my mind. He is completely free to express himself freely through legal means, but not through illegal means. For example, he cannot import - or cause to be imported - a radio transmitter into Nigeria (Mgbidi or somewhere close), and then call it frozen chicken or some other import.....Frozen chickens have different import taxes than radio transmitters...he is sanctionable for that. If he had declared radio transmitters, and registered a radio station with the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) - obtaining and paying for a licence - no problem. That transmitter should have a certain power, and be categorized AM or FM, community or campus radio, with a certain range. If he broadcasts his free speech - even of secession wishes - within those parameters, no problem. But if he broadcasts WITHIN the power range permitted, no problem. Outside it...there is a problem. And so on...Bolaji Aluko
