Was in Naija when the Zaria massacre took place; was even going to visit my Alma Mata, ABU, but changed course after the incident.
APC salone is still APC with gbosgbos plus tiff. But we will get change in our life time.
Best wishes,
Ib

--These APC parties! First of all Nigeria's APC and my man Muhammdu Buhari (I had a very positive dream about him the other day, in which he showed me much personal affection). No mouse is he , so I cannot rightly say that we haven't heard him squeak, but indeed he has been keeping mum ever since his military's latest atrocity against many hundreds of his peaceful, unarmed Shia Muslims Brethren who they gunned down in cold blood, razed their dwellings to the ground and still, they hope to prosper and to be rewarded with the gardens of paradise underneath which rivers flow, although they know that Allah does not sleep...
Since about sixteen years ago ( in 1999) at the Sabbath Service Kiddush in a direct one to one conversation in which we were discussing Mauritania being the third Arab country to recognise Israel I first heard from Salomo Berlinger that almost every issue is a moral issue, I have tended to look at issues that way, in this case that it would be immoral to want to defend the indefensible with regard to either the satanic massacre of the Shia in Nigeria or the evidence of growing authoritarian rule by Ernest Bai Koroma and his cronies literally sticking us in the eye with their display of mismanagement and trampling on Sierra Leoneans' hard won personal liberties as they are doing currently.
No, I have not switched from my affiliation with Sierra Leone's APC to any other Salone party and will not do so if President Koroma publicly repents and changes his course of action although we know that at least in Krio, "monkey noh dae lef im black han'(d)" - exactly what the oyibo mean by "a leopard doesn't change its spots" and that's the CHANGE that we want to see from him and some of his thugs, dishonourably misnomered "police" and "judiciary"…
However, I will definitely switch if he continues his transgressions and I see a viable alternative on the horizon – at the moment Kandeh Yumkella may well be just that alternative.
Yesterday, it was a great party a couple of professors there, and Bernard gave us (Better Half and me) an autographed copy of his latest book, published this year( 2016) : British Imperial : What The Empire Wasn't
I should be taking it on immediately after the Sabbath…
Then there's the looming question of what the APC, is, was, was not. Enough to produce more than one more book from you, dear Ib…
Yours,
CH

Sent from my iPhone--In The Devil That Danced On Water Aminatta Forna details some of the trials and tribulations that befell Sierra Leoneans during the APC rule including the execution of her beloved father Dr. Mohammed Forna who was Sierra Leone's Minister of Finance
Now, day by day the signs are becoming clear that another devil is about to appear, has started rearing and shaking his ugly head and that's the reason for this early warning issued as
