From: oladimeji aborisade: Please accept this one line contribution on the on going debate regarding the success of Trump at the Republican Presidential Primary bid.Trump is winning because he is saying what people want to hear which shows the nature of American politics. If Trump is stopped at the Convention to carry the banner as the Republican Presidential candidate, Republican Party may be in trouble for many years ahead. Right now, the Party is not ready to present any strong alternative to Trump. May be there is no alternative now. Clearly, Not Bush. Not Ted Cruz. Not an individual who could not win in his home state. I think any attempt to stop Trump if he got enough of votes to command a lead, may not speak well of any sound strategy. Thank you. oladimeji aborisade.

Why Does Presidential candidate Donald Trump Keep Winning Primaries?
There is only one point in which all American Politicians, Democrats and Republicans, agree on: Mr. Donald Trump is not prepared to be the President of these United States (USA). Each party is hell bent to ensure that Mr. Trump does not emerge as the GOP nominee and each party has devised strategies to deny Trump the nomination. GOP leadership are uniting behind the much hated Ted Cruz in an effort to make sure that the party has a brokered convention where the leadership would chose somebody else from "a smoke filled backroom." Even the usually gentlemanly Mr. Obama who has refrained from participation in the primaries could not help but openly and often proclaiming that Trump is not a presidential material. Other elder statesmen, McCain, Bob Dole, etc., are on record that Trump is not the leader US should be looking for. US newspaper editors, reporters, and commentators have declared from their pulpits that Trump is not the man.
As if the voices of American politicians and media are not loud enough foreign leaders who usually seem uninterested in domestic affairs of US cannot keep their mouth shut and have often very undiplomatically showed alarm at the prospects of a Trump presidency. Usually tepid British Parliament in one of the recent Q&E periods unloaded their anger on Trump asking that he be barred from Britain even before he is nominated. The Bishop of Rome came all the way from the Papal Palace in Rome to the US/Mexican Border to show his disgust. Canadian Prime Minister has been quoted as saying he would accept US refugees who would flee to Canada when Trump becomes the president.
But Donald Trump keeps winning and increasing his margins of victory, and wining in the east, west, north and south and is now more than half way to getting the majority that would give him the nomination at first ballot. What is more amazing is that of all the GOP candidates Mr. Trump has most black and other minorities' supporters who he seems to dislike so much. He seems to be doing well with Hispanic voters who he would deport in the first hour of his presidency. I have met enlightened Nigerians who are saying that they would vote for "The Donald" even after he singled out Nigerians as the worst of the "bad Africans" and who would not have a place in Trump America.
Why does Mr. Donald Trump keep winning despite opposition at home and abroad? Why are majority of Republican grass roots supporting him? Why is he spending the least amount of money and has no major PAC on his side and yet he keeps winning? Why? Why? Why?
I make the following suggestions:
1. He is more logical than the rest of the politicians. He recently said that the women who undergo abortions should be punished if abortion is illegal, and this raised a cacophony of voices. What is the hullaballoo about? Why would those who do illegal things not be punished?. The answer is POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. Women have a lot of votes and the politically correct thing is to absolve them but to punish the doctors who they pay to perform abortion. There are only a few doctors. And politicians can survive without the few doctors' votes. The grass roots see this and ratchet up their support for THE DONALD.
2. Trump is honest. He is rich and does not deny it. He brags about it. He lets you know and not to forget how wealthy he is. He will help the rich, he would pass on his wealth to his heirs without estate taxation, he would cut the taxes for the rich, and he would make America rich again. US needs the rich just as it needs other groups. All the other presidential candidates are millionaires too but pretend to be "ordinary Americans" and promise to cut taxes, to suck it up to the rich, to make it a level playing field. All of the speeches are garbage and the grass roots know it. So they admire the one who has levelled with them. AND vote for him.
3. THE DONALD knows and feels what majority of Americans feel but are afraid to say so. The West is living in fear of the Muslim world. They do not want Middle Easterners in their borders. As much of Mideast is Muslim and terrorism has been equated with Islam, Americans do not want them in their mist. What does Trump say? Don't bring them here until we understand their intentions. It makes sense to the common person but to the politicians they say the same tings but pretend that it is different. Mr. Cruz would bring them in but would make the police to patrol in their neighborhoods. This is the same as putting them in internment camps or in jails. Inquiring minds immediately recognized the hypocrisy and moved over to Trump's side.
4. On immigration. Republicans do not want a way to citizenship; they want the borders secured and they want the illegal 12 million immigrants already in US to go home. So when Trump gives voice to these views, by saying he would build a wall; and would deport all of them. He is called names and the voters go for the honest Trump against the hypocrites. And we are all amazed?
5. Perhaps the point immediately above illustrates best why Trump keeps on winning. His critics are the strongest boosters of trump for they lie so openly and so often that the grass roots know who is who. Take my former governor (MA) Mr. Romney also the former presidential candidate. He says that Trump is not a good business man, his reason: Trump inherited $200 million. But we know that Trump turned his $200 million into a net worth of at least $2 billion. It is a 1000% increase in a life time of about 40 years since he inherited it. Which other candidate can match this level of growth? If his father were to come back he would call him a worthy servant. AND WOULD GIVE HIM MORE INHERITANCE.
I am not going to work for Trump in this election and would not vote for him either. But we must call a spade a spade. The hypocrisy of the Republicans is what is driving Trumps success. After the GOP has divided the nation into the poor and the rich; between the majority and the minority; between the Jew and the gentile (Trumps say he would be neutral in Mideast peace efforts); between men and women; between native sons and immigrants, GOP leadership turns around and accuses Mr. Trump of dividing the nation. The people are not as foolish as the politicians think they are.
It is time for the Republican Party to make up its mind on what is good for America. It must either change its sets of beliefs or support one who best articulates these beliefs. That man is Mr. Trump. If they gang up to stop Mr. Trump and continue using the current strategies of "piling on" the grassroots would call a foul on them and penalize them in November.
The democrats will only rejoice at their self-destruction.
And Nigerians the first on the deportation list would feast on the best egwusi soup and garri that money can buy.
And wash them down with the strongest "aka mere" or the best juice that the Ijaw can produce.
