In the battle for control and liberation of the creative potential of my personal cosmos, opon ifa is proving most helpful.

Having spent countless hours years ago meditating on images of the symbolic and functional form from the Yoruba origin Ifa system, it has been planted in me, emerging spontaneously in my visual memory at this point of reckoning, this period of stock taking and realignment in relation to my vocation, the orientation of a person's life and work in terms of their ultimate sense of mission, as described by Websters Third New International Dictionary of the English Language.

The core of my self beats in rhythm with the constellation of possibilities integrated at the intersection of the line of becoming and the line of being, what is and what may be, of space and time, at the core of opon ifa.

The various images carved into the circumference of the structure become the interrelated aspects of my life, the face of the Orisa or deity Esu invariably positioned at the top of the circular or rectangular formation the witness of various levels, various possibilities of consciousness, individual and divine, personal and cosmic, present at the transmutation of possibilities within the crucible of the self poised at an intersection in space and time, the progression of these spatio-temporal convergences constituting the temporal motion of existence.

Poised at this nexus of time and space, the conjunction of the horizontal and vertical patterns configuring opon ifa, the point in two dimensional space encapsulating all dimensions, all possibilities of being, I reach out to Oyigiyigi, the Immovable, That which protrudes above the waters of being, the ripples emanating from which and converging on which are the expansion and contraction of all possibilities in relation to, as put by Susanne Wenger, Axiom Paradoxon, Origin and Consummation, Beginning and Consequence.

The opon ifa images here are from various books and websites.
