Important topic and supports my view that white people still control the production of scholarly knowledge about Africa. Tellingly, the author's list of transgressions unwittingly reproduces part of the problem: cis-patriarchy, hetero-normativity, transphobia, "Trumpmania" are issues that are not very relevant in Senegal or anywhere else in Africa (South Africa might be an exception for sexuality categories).
