I agree; this is a fantastic summation of the plenary, which was clearly a productive event. I second all of the points raised, especially the one about the nexus of unemployment, lax entry requirements, and poor commitments to the teaching and research obligations of academia. I am reading this from a different part of Nigeria and wish I could be there.

Thanks for such a colourful and vivid report of the opening ceremony for this year's TOFAC. I was there, but reading your report re-lived the event in my mind. The ceremony was a constellation of truly inspiring ideas: from Ogbeni Aregbesola's engaging and lofty reflections to Prof Wariboko's sparklingly original projections to Prof Falola's storytelling tying it all together neatly into the Africanity theme.
