By Chidi Anthony Opara
The pledge
Of a penitent prince;
"I will never sit
On that throne
Tainted.
Decorated
With paraphernalia purchased
With proceeds from
The patrimony of this people
Pauperized.
I will never again
Dwell
In that putrid palace".
