Is this a harbinger of worse things to come? Unfortunately, claims of Buhari's secret plans to Islamize the country as well as his appointments of predominantly northern figures to important political positions will not help dissuade those who suspect him of plans of turning the country into a religious estate. Perhaps, ISIS is reading a similar text. Calling Nigeria and asking about the state of things in the country these days is like opening a very angry infected sore. People are frightened and worried. Buhari is now bombing Nigerian citizens, creating a siege situation, yet, he claims that he is committed to keeping the country together. Sword and gun-wielding Fulani marauders are slaughtering residents of small towns, emptying these places to create grazing grounds for their cattle. these killers have not been brought to justice. The 200+ girls kidnapped by Boko Haram are yet to be returned as Buhari promised. He has not fulfilled his promise to eradicate  or stem corruption. If any thing, he has created a new form of corruption  by his ethnocentric appointments, which he claims were because those people are the only ones he can trust. Indeed, one has to ask how he wishes to govern a country where the new law of the land is blatant ineffectiveness  and exclusion or killing of those who disagree with him? So, whose President is he and why would ISIS not want to claim a state with such political weaknesses? The Naira, I hear, is currently about 400+ to the dollar. How did we go from the position of the leading economic powerhouse on the continent, trumping South Africa,  to the current economic and political mess? Our people are suffering and ISIS's dirty palm print may only be the beginning of the birth of the "strange beast" slouching towards us. Things have really fallen apart. 

Today is Hiroshima and Nagasaki day. Let us stand together against those who wage wars, any type of war.
