Attached is a compressed chronicle of how Nigerian leaders - military and civilians, civil servants and judiciary, Christians and Muslims of all tribes - have plundered the finance of Nigeria since August 1985 to May 2015. Nigerian officials had multiple of briefcase companies to which they awarded government contracts and paid in full for unexecuted or abandoned contracts. With the ascension of Mohammadu Buhari to President, he declared war on treasury looters which intellectual sloganeers have opposed and, instead, advocated for what they termed : Bring Back Our Corruption. They argued that the good side of corruption is that corrupt officials use to spend some of their stolen funds that trickle down to pepper sellers by the road side.
But those who steal appropriated developmental funds, which is minimized and reduced to corruption, do not own factories and do not manufacture anything except poverty for the people.
When funds appropriated for Universal Primary Education, so that every Nigerian child of school age can go to school and learn how to read and write, are stolen and Officials build instead ghost primary schools, employ ghost teachers and admit ghost pupils; when Officials collect billions of naira as subsidy for un-imported and un-supplied fuel; when funds appropriated to build and maintain standard hospitals, oil refineries, iron and steel industries; when funds appropriated to pay pensions, construct and maintain roads, to buy weapons to fight insurgencies, and buy transformers to generate electricity are stolen by the alliance of politicians, civil servants and judicial officers, what trickles down to the masses is hopelessness and abject poverty.
Beside the enslaved Black Africans in America and the Caribbean Islands, hardly can one see any other people in the anal of human history endure the humiliation, degradation, deprivations squalors and ruin that Nigerian leaders - military, politicians, civil servants and the judiciary - visit on Nigerians everyday. Rarely can one see any leadership - military, politicians, civil servants and judiciary - of any country in the world treats its citizens with so much contempt, scorn and condescension as in Nigeria without facing revolt. Unless robbed and dispossessed masses of Nigeria confront rogue Nigerian politicians, civil servants and their backbones, the judiciary with decisive actions, insist on retribution, our country may well prove that stealing to enrich self and impoverish the masses is ordained by God, Allah, Jesus and Mohammed. Arise Oh Nigerians and file behind Buhari to combat robbers and appropriator of our commonwealth and recover from them our stolen wealth. Buhari alone cannot do it. It is time for Nigerians to join the assembly of reasonable and intelligent human-beings.
