John: A recount is necessary, given the slip majority. However arson and mayhem should not be part of the answer.
Oxford-educated Ghanaian sociologist (Professor K.A. Busia, a future Prime Minister) often lamented in the 196p0s that Africa was not ripe for decolonization (or independence).
Also Rene Dumont, in his predictable book, False Start in Africa, concluded that African independence was a "false" start in continental politics!
To re-echo the sound words of VC Mobolaji Aluko, and there you have it!

AB: I have been watching coverage of the elections and its aftermath on FRANCE 24. France and several other countries have asked for a recount given the narrow victory and the opposition's claims of corruption and voting irregularities.
I hope that this does not lead to civil war.
Stay well. John
