USA Africa Dialogue Series - HILLARY-NATION: What I would do were I Hillary {Re: Uncovered Video: Trump Brags about Being Able to Grope Women

CH:

In my 37 years living in America, my own observations of attaining the American presidency are that

(1) it must be a life-time ambition, like almost starting in high school; then being conscious of

(2) arranging your lifestyle from youth to be as PURITANICAL as humanly possible (free of crime or scandal about sex, wine or money (including Taxes),  and participating in life projects with a PUBLIC SPIRIT to the greatest amount possible (like serving in the army, serving the underprivileged or on education boards. Etc., and showing evidence of SERIAL SUCCESS in many endeavors (intellectual, business, service) in life.

(3) wherever you have failings in puritanism or public spirit, writing a book about them TRUHFULLY and COMPREHENSIVELY to explain them, and showing humility. Often the failings are easily forgiven by Americans  as youthful exuberance or the mores of the times, so a charge of hypocrisy is difficult to level. However, if you allow the Press to discover some damning failing, then you are toast.

(4). Finally, there is an implicit idealism in the American spirit that says that if you must lead America, your moral standards and standards must be HIGHER than that of the average among us American.

Trump FAILS in all of these tests WOEFULLY, while Clinton is only having problems in Imperative #4.
She is by far the more qualified to be President.

The problem in my country Nigeria include

(1). Too many accidental leaders, who at 40, 50 or 60 years old suddenly seize leadership (through coups, money-bagism, god-fatherism, etc)  without understanding the system that they are leading

(2) an uncaring electorate, who do not look far enough into the criminal (or otherwise) background of those who would lead them, including IGNORING indications of future bad behavior

(3) a lack of idealism, where there is an ingrained anti-intellectualism, that a leader should lead only from the MIDDLE or near the BACK of the people, and not from the front. There is a preference for primordial populism.

In the Re-structuring of Nigeria that is being talked about, the very nature of getting our leadership at various levels must be re-structured.

And there you have it.

This little tittle-tattle about trump saying off camera (some ) that women can be up for grabs (it's true and you don't have to be Casanova or President Bill Clinton to know that - and here's exactly what Trump said

My gratitude too to the tens of millions of Americans and citizens of the world for tuning in to this second debate between Donald Trump and myself.

>> You know, Donald, I was not expecting you to show up at this event after the disclosure of that tape in which you were heard and seen to make lewd and unrepeatable comments. I am the Democratic nominee for President, while you are the Republican nominee. Under normal circumstances, despite our political differences we should be able to respect whoever wins this election. I am however sorry to state - as I have done several times in my campaign - that you are morally and temperamentally unfit to be my President and Commander in Chief. This tape has merely reinforced that conviction. I simply do not know any decent human being, not to talk of American, who will not now come to that same conclusion.
>>
>> Ad a result of my deep conviction, and starting with this debate, I hereby refuse to debate you one-on-one any further on matters of policy or programs, or share the same platform or podium with you, as I feel that I will be merely enabling your indecent behavior. My decision comes with Political risk for my presidential ambition, but it is one that I am prepared to take for the sake of the women, girls, mothers and daughters - as well as men - who would be assaulted by you using the enormous power of the US presidency if you were by any chance to attain it.
>>
>> So as I step away from the podium, I urge you, Donald,  for the sake of the country, your party and your family, to quit this campaign so that a more decent Republican candidate can take your place. If you insist on staying on - and if your political party does no have he moral spine to step you down - it will not stop me from continuing to work hard for a historic win in November, but I do not consider you a worthy opponent.
