By Chidi Anthony Opara
The Clergies
Caress our love for prosperity.
They are calling us
To come tonight
Clutching
Fat tithes and offerings.
Tonight,
They say,
They will cross us over
From the old year
To the New Year.
Else,
They say,
We will drag the poverty
Of the old year
To the New Year.
