What Chidi is saying is that the judiciary is  used as a political tool, so that who is prosecuted and the direction of the prosecution are never free of self serving initiatives by the govt.

The same Kadiri who is now posing as A Nigerian for Justice Against Corruption was the same person who bent backwards to justify the non-prosecution or even investigation of ministers Amaechi and Fashola in spite of the blatant cases of corruption they have demonstrated as governors.

Not yet uhuru.

You should be talking about "diligent adjudication of cases by Judges" and not about "diligent prosecution and obtained conviction." This is because the prosecutor cannot do more than to arraign and charge looters in courts and if a Judge uses his judicial power to grant bails to looters and adjourns trial indefinitely, there is nothing the prosecutor can do to conclude trials. You are probably aware of the fact that granting a bail in any criminal offence is at the discretion of the presiding judge who should weigh in the seriousness of the crime. A bail is never automatic. A serious crime such as treasury looting on the scale of billions of Naira and its consequences on the society, should not at all attract a bail. The practice is that the defence lawyers usually fill the bank account(s) of the presiding judge in Nigeria with some millions of naira, so that bail is granted and the case is put into coma through indefinite adjournment by the Judge. A relevant case is the former PDP Governor of River State, Dr. Peter Odili, who was granted perpetual injunction, in 2007, against any investigating authority in Nigeria from arresting, detaining, interrogating and prosecuting him for looting River State of the sum of N100 billion. EFCC appealed against the perpetual injunction granted to Dr. Odili, but the Registrar of Appeal Court refused till date to list the appeal for hearing at the Appeal Court. Dishonest personal opinions of professional bloggers will never allow them to see the aforementioned collaboration between defence lawyers, treasury looters and Judges in Nigeria.

I was waiting to hear "diligently prosecuted and got conviction" from you and not "revived". Such cases are usually "revived" to be used as weapons of political arm twisting.

As for "professional bloggers", you should know that they have their personal opinions.
