For like forever, Nigerian leaders and even followers always hailed the remittances by Nigerians from their countries of hideout as a sign Nigerians are doing well, conveniently forgetting the etymology of Ghana-Must-Go. We forget it's mighty difficult for immigrants to assimilate in foreign countries, and are always at the mercy of the economic wind. Economy doing well, immigrants welcome. Economy gone south, Immigrants Must Go!
Yesterday, the apex court of the UK further tightened the ever tightening welcoming noose by having a minimum income test for those trying to "import" their wives. Code word for - we have our own problems and don't need to import more from Kazakhstan. Usually, this is a response to political pressure from the politicians' bosses, the voters.
Trump's clearest message was about kicking out Mexican immigrants, he did not tell us his plans for Irish immigrants hiding out in plain sight in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.
Issokay, Allah dey!
Nearer home, South Africa just about had it with Nigerians:
Police fired stun grenades, rubber bullets and water cannon Friday as the latest wave of anti-immigrant protests broke out in South Africa's capital, while President Jacob Zuma condemned anti-foreigner violence and appealed for calm.
A petition the protesters handed to the foreign ministry, seen by The Associated Press, suggested that the government teach foreigners to speak properly. "They are arrogant and they don't know how to talk to people especially Nigerians," it said.
Resentment against foreigners has sometimes turned deadly in South Africa amid accusations that they take jobs from locals in a country where unemployment is above 25 percent. Others are blamed for drug-dealing and other crimes. In 2015, anti-immigrant riots in and around the city of Durban killed at least six people. In 2008, similar violence killed about 60 people.

Bottom line - Nigeria has to make Nigeria work. Running away to Libya, etc. is not a solution. And any top official who praises Western Union remittances as achievement should be hung. I'd pay for the noose :-)
